The Kalamazoo Klub celebrates 70 years of Topic Records
With Carthy and Swarbrick at The Union Chapel
Friday 25th September
This year, Topic Records will be 70, making it the oldest independent record label in the UK. To help celebrate, The Kalamazoo Klub is offering a great evening of folk music at London’s Union Chapel featuring legends of the genre, Martin Carthy and Dave Swarbrick.
Usually based at The King’s Head in Crouch End on the second Friday of each month, The Kalamazoo Klub has decided that a bigger venue was needed to hold the audience for this special evening and the acoustics of the Union Chapel are ideally suited to this intimate, guitar and voice based music. The octagonal converted church building in Islington’s busy Upper Street is ideally located for travelling to the gig and is a breathtaking space. It is also near many great places to eat and drink both before and after the gig.
We are offering two tickets (worth £15 each) to the first fRoots reader who can answer the following question; which well-known US guitar manufacturer created a signature model in honour of Martin Carthy?
